ryegrass

Diverse, attractive, and aggressive.

The most popular species by volume produced, perennial ryegrass is an aggressive grass that quickly germinates under varied conditions. It forms an attractive turf with excellent color, density, and wear tolerance. Ryegrass reduces erosion, competes against weed invasion, and is highly resistant to damage from surface feeding insects when enhanced with a beneficial fungus called endophyte.

Ryegrass is ideal for renovating poor turf areas. In warm season climates, perennial ryegrass has become the standard for overseeding dormant bermudagrass, extending aesthetics and use year-round.

Mixtures with other species, like Kentucky bluegrass, improve disease response over that of either species alone.
