  • Low fertility requirements
  • Fine texture and soft appearance

Beacon II

Hard

A use-anywhere selection when soil and fertility are lacking, and irrigation is absent. Year-round dense sward, aggressive establishment, and drought tolerance that is 2nd to none in the latest NTEP trials.

Blue Hornet

Sheep

Germinates rapidly but grows extremely slow under little or no inputs. Blue Hornet has improved adaptability to heat and marginal soils while also exhibiting better persistence in drought.

Cardinal II

Creeping Red

Cardinal II scored high in all turf-quality ratings of the NTEP including color. It is a dark green cultivar with improved salt tolerance that can withstand lower mowing heights.

Compass II

Chewings

Compass II has excellent shade tolerance. It ranked at the top of the NTEP turf quality ratings under low mow conditions. Compass II has great disease resistance and improved salt tolerance.

Harbor MR

Creeping Red Fescue

Unlike older varieties that show injury when Mesotrione is applied at establishment, Harbor MR shows little to no plant injury. Excelled in both shade tolerance and drought tolerance, strong spring green-up, stellar summer and fall density, and overall turf quality.

Jetty

Hard

Jetty ranked highest in the NTEP for shade tolerance. It can withstand low mowing and is one of the darkest hard fescues available. In addition, it has excellent disease resistance and drought tolerance.

Navigator III

Creeping Red

Performs in shaded and poorly irrigated areas where fertility and pesticide inputs are lacking. Continues its excellence in turf quality and drought stress while improving traffic stress and shade tolerance.

Radar II

Chewings

At the top of its class in drought resistance and summer density. It’s no surprise that it also ranked highest for establishment and traffic stress. Widely adapted from the transition zone northward.

Seamist

Slender Creeper

SeaMist is a revolutionary slender creeping red fescue that can germinate in water that is up to 40% as saline as sea water. SeaMist an ideal choice in areas where effluent water is used to irrigate.

Vanguard

Mix

The optimal fine fescue mix with four pillars in mind; diverse disease resistance, shade tolerance, turf quality and performance in both low and high maintenance regimes. An added bonus is the built in salt tolerance exhibited by Seamist Slender Creeping Red Fescue!

A-LIST

Designates a variety that has been approved by the Alliance for Low Input Sustainable Turf (A-LIST). These varieties have been independently tested and show the ability to maintain excellent turf quality under the harshest conditions, requiring less water, fertilizer, and chemicals to do so.
